How To Pack

How To Pack

Here are some simple tips to packing and wrapping that will help protect your goods during transit.

  •     Wrap each item individually using bubble wrap.
  •     Spread the weight of heavy items e.g. Books & folders between all the boxes provided
  •     Never overfill a box. As a guide one person should be able to comfortably lift a packed box unaided.
  •     Put heavy things at the bottom of any box to ensure you avoid crushing other items.
  •     Fill the space within a box to ensure there is no movement of items during transit
  •     Label each box carefully so you know its contents.
  •     Tape each box closed when it is full.
  •     Tape the bottom of a box before packing it, first fold two opposite flaps then the remaining two flaps over.
  •     Use one length of tape along the central seam. Use two further lengths of tape over the edge of seams.
  •     Make sure boxes are packed the right way up.
  •     Always pack the box to the very top and to both sides, any voids can cause the box to crush or items to move and be damaged.
  •     To close a box, always fold in two opposite sides followed by the remaining two, never criss-cross.
  •     Take care when reopening boxes if cutting the tape with a knife to avoid damaging the contents.
